There are lots and lots to mention about this unique area of the country, and throughout this site we hope that you find absolutely everything you need to know. We shall start simple though:
Lochaber makes up several distinct areas of the west highlands;
Fort William and Glen Nevis lies at the heart of the area, is the largest town in the Highlands and the easy(ish!) way up Ben Nevis.
To the west, the peninsula of Ardgour, Ardnamurchan, Moidart and
Morvern; the most westerly point of the British mainland.
The ancient and breathtaking gateway to Lochaber starts in Glencoe through Ballachulish and Kinlochleven
The Road to the Isles, and the final leg of the West Highland main line, stretches from Fort William to the fishing village of Mallaig.

Finally the Great Glen and Glen Spean connect Lochaber via the Caledonian Canal to the capital of the Highlands, Inverness.
The area is recently termed “The Outdoor Capital of the UK”, thanks to the large number of outdoor pursuits that the landscape lends itself to. Some of the most popular are Mountain biking, climbing, hill walking and skiing.
Because of this, and obviously the beautiful scenery in the area, it’s advisable to come visit! Go
